A Journey Through Time

3〜4年生で準２級/
5〜6年生で2級/
高校生で準一級を
取得した生徒もいます
クラスではスペリング、ボキャブラリー及び文法を重点的に学習します。
“先日娘が(1年生)英検３級に合格しましたので、そのご報告と
お礼のためにメールしました。
在園中に、「いずれは受けてみても良いかも」とお話しをいただいていたので、思い切って受けさせてみたのですが、結果は一次試験、二次試験共に満点に近く、英検協会の基準によると準２級の合格レベルもクリアしていました。
家では過去問と英作文を少し練習しただけで、単語や文法は
特に勉強する必要はありませんでした。
BKIの３年間でしっかりとした英語力を身に付けさせて
いただいたお陰だと思います。本当にありがとうございました。”
『英語で読む力』
日々の読書通して卒園までに読めるようになる本をご紹介します（個人差があります）。
Book 1 ) Non-Fiction Title : How Things Have Changed!
There are many things that we have today that we didn’t have a long time ago. Now we have computers and machines to help us do things at home more easily. A long time ago, doing things was slow and hard work.
Along time ago there were no cars. People rode horses instead. Sometimes the horses stayed inside part of the house to keep warm at night.
Today when we want light at home, we turn on a switch. A long time ago people had to light candles if they wanted to see at night.
If we want a shower today, we can turn on a tap with hot water. Along time ago most people at home had to use a bucket of cold water to wash with.
There were no ipads then, and no smart phones. There was no internet and no television. If people had a lot of money they could buy a radio. Then everyone from far away would come and listen to the music and news together.
Along time ago air conditioners and heaters had not yet been made. People had to cut wood and light a fire inside their house to keep warm each winter.
They had big gardens full of fruit and vegetables. They had oranges and plum trees and they had ducks and chickens to give them eggs for breakfast.
When they needed something, like a broom to sweep the floor with, they would make the broom themselves.
Many years ago people lived far apart. Often the shop was very far away so they would have to leave home for a few days just to take the time to get there and back again. It was a long trip!

本１）ノンフィクション：時とともに変化してきたもの
現在存在する物の中には、昔は存在しなかったものが数多くあります。例えば現在はコンピュータや様々な機器が私たちの補助をし作業を簡単にしてくれています。けれども一昔前は物事を行うのに多くの時間と労力がかかりました。
大昔は車はありませんでした。人々は代わりに馬に乗っていました。馬は時々うちの一角で暖をとったりもしました。
今は自宅の中で明かりが欲しい時、スイッチを入れるだけでつきます。でも、昔はロウソクに火をつけなければ夜に視野を確保できませんでした。
シャワーを浴びたい時は蛇口をひねるだけで温かいお湯が出てきます。けれども昔はバケツに溜めた冷たい水で身体を洗うほかありませんでした。
iPadもスマートフォンもなく、インターネットやテレビも存在しませんでした。お金をたくさん持っている人はラジオを購入できました。そして音楽やニュースを一緒に聞くために遠方から人が集うのでした。
大昔、エアコンや暖房器具がまだ作られていなかった頃、人々は冬ごとに木を切ってうちの中で火をおこして暖を取らなければなりませんでした。
庭には大きな畑があり果実や野菜でいっぱいでした。オレンジやすももの木があり、飼っているアヒルや鶏の卵を朝食に食べていたのです。
床をはくためのほうきが必要な時は自分たちで作っていました。
昔の人々は自宅の距離が離れていました。多くの場合お店も遠いので自宅を何日も空けてお店へ行き来しなければなりませんでした。長旅だったのです！

Book 2) Fiction Title ; A week with Uncle John.
I went to Australia and stayed for a week with my Uncle John.
We did lots of cool stuff . He took me everywhere and we had great fun together.
We rode bikes to the shopping mall on Monday and watched a funny movie.
On Tuesday we went surfing at the beach. We ate ice-cream and made castles in the sand. I saw three crabs.
Wednesday night was warm and clear, we watched the fire works on the banks of the river. It was very loud. We drank cola and ate fish and chips.
On Thursday we went to the zoo. We took pictures of all the animals. We went in the bat cave, it was very dark.
Friday was cold and wet. We went to the book shop and read lots of books. Uncle John got me two comic books. We went to the coffee shop and ate cake.
On Saturday we went to the festival at the park. We rode the merry-go-round and ate fairy floss. There were many people there. I made a small craft boat.
Sunday was my last day. Uncle John helped me pack my stuff, then he took me to the airport and said good bye. I will miss uncle john!

本２）フィクション：ジョンおじさんと過ごした一週間
僕はオーストラリアにいるジョンおじさんの所へ一週間ほど行った。
面白いことをたくさんしたよ。おじさんは僕をいろんな場所へ連れて行ってくれて、僕たちはとっても楽しい時間を過ごしたんだ。
月曜日には自転車に乗ってショッピングモールへ行き面白い映画を見たよ。
火曜日にはビーチでサーフィンをした。アイスクリームを食べたり砂のお城を作ったりして遊んだんだ。カニを三匹も見たよ。
水曜日の夜は暖かくて天気が良かったから川のほとりで花火を見た。とってもうるさかったよ。コーラを飲んでフィッシュ&チップスを一緒に食べたよ。
木曜日には動物園へ行った。動物園にいた全ての動物の写真を撮ったんだ。とっても暗いコウモリの洞窟に入ったよ。
金曜日は寒くて雨だった。本屋さんへ行って本をたくさん読んだんだ。ジョンおじさんは漫画を２冊買ってくれたよ。そしてコーヒーショップへ行ってケーキを食べさせてもらった。
土曜日には公園で開催されたお祭りへ行った。回転木馬に乗ってわたあめを食べたよ。たくさんの人がいたよ。僕は小さな船の模型を作ったんだ。
日曜日は最終日だった。ジョンおじさんは荷造りを手伝ってくれた後、僕を空港へ送り届けて、さよならを言った。ジョンおじさんにまた会いたいよ！

We saw some deer and gave them some grass. Munch! Munch! So hungry!
We saw two chickens sitting on eggs. We saw some baby chicks coming out!
Some animals like very hot places and some animals like very wet places. Some animals live in fields and some live in the ice and snow. Some animals live in the forest and some live in the mountains. Some animals live in the jungle and some in a river.
But we did not go here. Can you guess where we went?
To the Zoo! Next time please come with us, we go often!

フィクション：どこへ行ったか当ててみて？
私たちはとっても特別な場所へ行ったんだ。どこへ行ったかわかるかな？
友達と一緒に汽車に乗ったんだ。そしてバスに乗ったんだよ。どこへ行ったかわかるかな？
私たちはたくさんのペンギンを見て、お魚をあげたんだよ。ゴックン！ゴックン！とってもお腹が空いていたみたいなんだ！
私たちは鹿を見て、草をあげたんだ。ムシャ！ムシャ！とってもお腹が空いていたみたいなんだ！
私たちは卵の上に座っている鶏を２羽見たんだ。ヒヨコが産まれるのを見たんだよ！
とっても暑い場所が好きな動物もいれば、湿った場所が好きな動物もいるんだよ。草原で暮らす動物もいれば、氷と雪の世界で暮らす動物もいるんだ。森林で暮らす動物もいれば、山で暮らす動物もいるよ。ジャングルで暮らす動物もいれば、川で暮らす動物もいるんだ。
でも、そこに私たちは行ってないんだよ。それならどこへ行ったかわかるかな？
動物園へ行ったんだよ！結構頻繁に行くから、次は一緒に行こうね！
